Weak Ankles

Unless we suffer ankle sprains, general pain, or other problems in and around our ankles we tend to think very little about them. And yet, they are one of the most remarkable joints in our body and have a huge responsibility!

Our ankles are designed to be extremely flexible, to carry our full body weight and to keep us balanced.

Weak ankles (and weakened muscles that support your ankles) are often caused by excessive pronation of the feet, making walking unstable and causing repeated strains that loosen your ligaments. This in turn potentially causes ankle sprains.

Orthotics (bespoke insoles) can help to address weak ankles by increasing your stability, correcting the biomechanics of your feet and improving your posture. Orthotics can also help to prevent recurring injury.
