Classically, Personal Trainers have a tendency to neglect their feet and lower limbs, as they tend to focus their time on the health and wellbeing of their clients!
As a Professional Trainer, you are already informed and aware of the consequences of incorrect training technique, over-repetitive movements, irregular imbalances and poor posture. When it comes to maximising fitness potential whilst minimising injury, you have two key areas of responsibility.
Your own, and your clients’ health.
The regular stresses and strains placed on your own body through the process of repetitive demonstration and participation in your client’s workouts, and of being more aware of your client’s posture and the stresses placed on their body, than your own, can initiate an advisory consultation with a podiatrist.
At Kinetic Podiatry Clinic we recommend that all Personal Trainers partake in an initial consultation and Gait Analysis along with regular check-ups. This will ensure that your personal posture, leg and body movements are uncompromised and help to preventing repetitive or other injury.
Conversely, please recommend your clients to partake in a consultation and Gait Analysis to prevent or treat an existing injury and to pinpoint any areas that may be negatively affecting their performance and efficiency on the gym floor.
At Kinetic Podiatry Clinic our goal is for early detection of underlying problems, to minimse potential injury, and to provide sustainable, long-term solutions to keep you and your clients healthy and active for as long as possible.
